Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university.
  • Must be licensed in Tennessee as an EMT-Paramedic, registered nurse or physician.
  • Equivalent or greater academic training and preparation and hold all credentials for which the students are being prepared in the program.
  • Professional license must be free from history of revocation, denial or suspension.
  • Prehospital experience: Minimum of three (3) years practicing in the pre-hospital environment or equivalent.
  • Administrative experience: Minimum of two (2) years in EMS education administration.
  • Current endorsement in a Board approved trauma, cardiac, and pediatric course at the provider level.


  • Responsible for the overall coordination of all EMS Programs.
  • Act as a liaison between faculty, the sponsoring agency, students, the local medical community, and the Division of Emergency Medical Services.
  • Responsible for the recruitment and continued development of faculty to meet the needs of the institution.
  • Teach and instruct students through lectures, demonstrations, and/or audio visual aids as needed.
  • Maintain all requirements for accreditation, TN EMS Board documentation and reporting as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range

Commensurate with qualifications, experience, education and in accordance with the guidelines established by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
